This is a lovely cafe that has a central location right inside Holt Renfrew at Yorkdale. This makes it a very convenient spot for shoppers for a quick bite. However, the food and service wasn't memorable, given that it is an upscale place.

I came here for brunch on a long weekend and we ordered the smoked ham benedict and mushroom truffle pasta. It took a long time for someone to greet us with water, and an even longer time for food to come. The truffle pasta was dry, and lacked a bit of flavour, and did not have a pleasant aroma compared to other places. The smoked ham Benedict was good, but was nothing special. It was hard to get the waiter's attention, as no one really checked up on us after our food arrived.

I don't believe I will be in a rush to return; but I did see some others ordered buttermilk pancakes, which had very generous portions. The food quality and service needs improvement. I'm not a big fan of high tea, so can't comment on that. Hopefully, this place gets better over time!

So many fancy cafes here at yorkdale and i shouldve known its a red flag when theres no line up lol but my girl and i jus wanted to have a place to sit and catch up at. So we walked in anyway. Very nice environment! Got seated at the corned by the window.

    What we ordered:
    Seafood omelette
    Fish and chips

Despite the price, the food was terrible. Ud think that with that price they'd serve you something decent. The fish was soggy and the battered skin was soft. Didnt even seem like it was fried. You cant even cut it....the omelette was lack of taste and the side salad was over dressed. Servers were constantly hiding and no where to be found. Reflected my comments on the food to my serve and she was like "oh..."

    Pros:
All you can eat afternoon tea
    Food items were done well

    Cons:
    Parking at Yorkdale always tough
Not as big a tea selection as other afternoon tea locations

Took my wife here for part of her birthday celebration.  My wife is a tea aficionado and has always wanted to try this place.  Our overall experience was very good so I'm surprised by some of the reviews already written.  Perhaps because we came on a weekday?

Colette is located inside the Holt Renfrew in Yorkdale.  Coming to Yorkdale is always an adventure when it comes to parking. We came on a Thursday and the parking lot was still packed pretty well.  I can only imagine how bad parking can be on a weekend here.  The parking situation is about the only thing I can gripe about that day.

The cafe is much larger than it appears when you're on the outside.  There are plenty of tables here.  I made a reservation just in case but you shouldn't need one for a weekday. We were seated in a corner table with a great view of the entire place.

We ordered the Qeelin afternoon tea.  They also have a regular edition afternoon tea as well.  The food comes on this modern looking stand rather than the usual cage like afternoon tea stands.  The food was very well done.  After finishing our savouries, the server came by and asked if we wanted any refills on the food.  Apparently, they have free refills on the food here.  For a big eater like me, that's amazing.  I always feel there aren't enough savouries and too much sweets in afternoon tea. Getting more savouries definitely made my day!

One thing I did notice is that they don't have as much teas to select from.  I remember some places having an entire book of teas to choose from.  Colette has about 10 teas to choose from.  It's not a big deal for me per say, but a tea enthusiast like my wife would probably want more selection.

The server was very friendly throughout our visit.  He checked in on us multiple times and made sure everything was doing well.  The regular afternoon tea comes in at $40 per person.  The Qeelin is $65.  $65 is pricey in my opinion, but the free refills on food items make's much better.

Overall, I had a very good experience at Colette.  My wife was very happy after and that's all that matters in the end.

Pretty good food for the most part. I wasn't too excited  about the drinks though .

I'm allergic to shellfish so I'll have to take my buddy's word that the crabcakes were perfect. The truffle and mushroom pasta was delicious, but I was disappointed in the tuna tartare. The tartare had too much overpowering ingredients ...or perhaps it just didn't have enough tuna??

My bud ordered a beet juice which she liked, I thought the green juice cocktail was quite revolting. I was disappointed it was not taken off the bill (I swear I only took a few sips trying to overcome the disagreeing taste).

I decided to give this place a try for their high-tea! The interior is super cute and cozy and you can definitely tell they put a lot of work into making the place look luxurious.

Location: right inside Holt Renfrew on the main floor near the back

My friend and I got the traditional high-tea set which includes a selection of sandwiches and desserts on a super cute set up! You get your own tea pot! I would recommend going for the experience but the sandwiches and sweets were nothing out of the ordinary.

Price: $40/person , you can also get the other option that includes more pieces for $65
